  the latest study edition mentions hypothetical scenarios of jws who are no longer serving at bethel or no longer elders, etc.

  and says we shouldn't speculate, as defaming them could border on slander.. we could unintentionally defame someone by spreading negative information.

  ..... would it be proper to speculate on the reasons why these adjustments were made and to share that opinion with others?.

  The "10 Year Plan" - What is the realistic outcome?

  as there has been some discussion calling bs on this topic, .

  i will paste the text from my 10 year plan post and i will critically evaluate how i feel things will turn out.

  i will add bold italics my thoughts.. the governing body has a 10-year marketing plan to remodel the organization to become closer to a mainstream christian religion.

  Multiple plans like a business?

  Short term? Long term?

  And a 10 year plan?

  WT members are victims. The Borg perpetually leads them on that the end is " nigh",, but behind their backs ""these long term plans" but forever dangle this carrot in front of them.

  I remember having my morning coffee on Tuesday March 5th reading about Norway ruling on the Borg.

  I was thinking "" the Borg will appeal this within a month"".

  Well it took 25 days.

  A week short of a month.

  I guessed right.

  Im actually hoping the Borg is stupid enough to appeal to the European Supreme Court.

  Likely the higher court will uphold the lower court.

  The Borg gets their asses handed to them too.

  Then the Borg will likely have burned down all their bridges with all the countries in Europe.

  Alternative Military Service is Now OK

  but i wonder: how many jw's went to prison during the years that the wt did not allow them to perform community service as an alternative to military service?.

  anyone care to take a stab at the numbers?.

  On this subject of Alternative Military Service.

  In case you haven't read Raymond Franz book Crisis of Conscience there was an excellent chapter on this whole thing.

  How its affected the lives of thousands of JW men tremendously. Only to have the Borg change its mind later,, with ni explanation or apology.

  Ray Franz books. Crisis of Conscience & In Search of Christian Freedom. I suggest you get them. Outstanding reads.

  I believe he has been one of the longest posters on here going back this forums infancy,,,well before the youtube era in the early age of social media.

  Ironic.

  The Borg puts itself in with the organization it condemns to get government funding,perks and tax breaks.

  They rely on governments and such institutions which it condemns, for its longevity and survival

  They exclaim all the time ""no part of the world"" ,,,"unity"" & then they depend on such organizations.

  "I hope they lose this appeal"

  Not only that. But I hope they're stupid enough to appeal to the European Supreme Court. Lose there too and then every country in Europe will want nothing to do with the Borg.
